Hocus Pocus
by Kurt VonnegutI listened to this book on a few nights plus a trip to AAN which was bare and deserted at the time.
It is the first book from Vonnegut that I ever had contact with and I must say it was a pleasant experience. It might seem funny at the surface but there's sadness all along. At one particular moment it might just have made me cry thinking about the futility of human life and how life passes us by,
Although I could have misread the whole story, I think the book is about life's little miseries. The pile up and form a big pile of excrement. The book's main character and narrator, Eugene Debs Hartke, does not particularly enjoy what's happening all the time but he has a particular type of humor that allows him to accept things a little easier. Also, I suspect that his outlook on everything is that anything can be an adventure and you can certainly enjoy adventures.
The answer to the riddle is 82. Whatever that means.
